During the live broadcast, the developers revealed the Dark Urge, the last playable Origin hero coming to the game. Although the Dark Urge defaults to dragonborn, the character is fully customizable, unlike the game’s other playable protagonists. Additional information was revealed regarding character creation, including a closer look at makeup customizations, tattoo designs, skin and horn options, and accessories.

The panel also offered a glimpse into romances in Baldur’s Gate 3, emphasizing the freedom to choose from a variety of romantic partners and explore different relationships. “Have you ever considered the joys and pleasures of sexual congress with a wildshaped Druid?” asked Adam Smith, lead writer. “Because at Larian, we have, and ultimately landed on the side of giving the people what they want: tender, consensual romance with a man temporarily transformed into a grizzly bear.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 is scheduled to release for PC on August 3, 2023 and PlayStation 5 on September 6. Additional game details are available on the official website.
