On Tuesday, Larian Studios revealed the seventh major update for Baldur’s Gate 3 during their Panel From Hell: 5th Edition livestream. Titled “Patch 7: Absolute Frenzy,” the patch update introduces a new melee class along with new weapon mechanics, an overhauled UI, improved cinematics, and much more.
Patch 7 brings the Barbarian class to Baldur’s Gate 3 along with two new subclasses, Wildheart and Berserker. Barbarians are warriors that can channel their inner Rage to gain extra attacks and bonuses. You can see the new Barbarian class in action in the video below.

Another notable feature of Patch 7 is the introduction of improvised weapons. This new mechanic allows players to use pretty much anything as a weapon, even other creatures. Throwable weapons are also being added with this patch, giving melee players a way to perform ranged attacks using daggers, javelins, handaxes, and spears.
The HUD UI has undergone a complete makeover as part of Patch 7 and should be much more streamlined and user friendly. Stealth and exploration have been reworked as well, including improvements to lighting detection and Darkvision.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently in early access on Steam. Full patch notes for Patch 7 will be posted on the game’s Steam page, so stay tuned for updates.
