The Nintendo Switch version of Astroneer includes four-player co-op and as well as every content update the game has received throughout the years. With over 40 content updates under its belt, there’s plenty for Astroneer players to enjoy on the Switch.

The game’s total number of content updates has increased even more with the new Xenobiology content update, which launched today simultaneously with Astroneer‘s Switch release. The update introduces Galastropods, adorable “space snails” that players can adopt as pets. Players can feed their pet Galastropod to earn special companion benefits that will aid them while adventuring. Those looking to find these new critters right away can jump into new missions and a new adventure mode story to get started.

The Xenobiology content update is available for all versions of Astroneer, acting as a day-one patch for the Switch version. Alongside the content update comes various bug fixes and gameplay adjustments for Astroneer.
