Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Set During the Viking Age

Tune in on Thursday to watch the official reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Today, Ubisoft revealed the title and setting for their next Assassin’s Creed game. The upcoming adventure, aptly titled Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is set during the Viking Age. The full reveal of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take place on Thursday, April 30 at 8:00 am PT / 11:00 am ET.

The news came following an extensive eight-hour teaser livestream featuring artist Kode Abdo, who is also known as BossLogic. During the livestream, viewers watched as BossLogic brought the first piece of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla artwork to life. You can watch the full teaser livestream VOD below.

The finished art piece, which you can view on the header at the top of this article, contains several details that tell us more about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It appears that seafaring and naval combat will be a returning feature in Valhalla, based on the Viking ships on the left side of the image. The right side depicts a combat scene on what is most likely the British Isles. The Viking warrior gripping an axe in the center appears to be the main protagonist of Valhalla, though it is unclear whether players will be able to select their character’s gender as they previously could in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Ubisoft did not announce a release date for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, Ubisoft is hosting a full reveal event for Valhalla tomorrow, so we may learn the release date then.
