Ubisoft is just starting their annual E3 2019 press conference and we’ve already got a pretty exciting announcement. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has received a free update introducing a new Story Creator mode.
Story Creator Mode Trailer
The Story Creator mode allows players to create their own quest chains in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, complete with full use of the vast array of NPCs, different locations, custom conditions for success, and much more.
Players can choose from six different quest objectives – including assassination, rescue, or visiting a specific place – and create their own branching dialogue and paths, while casting the game’s characters in new roles. Creators can also give players the option to lie their way through an encounter, or end dialogue by attacking NPCs, if their story calls for it. Created quests can be shared and played on any platform, even if the creator and player are using different systems.
- Mix and Match Quest Objectives: Players can choose from six quest objectives from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, such as freeing or assassinating targets and going to specific locations.
- Create Branching Narratives: Based on the interactive branching dialogue system from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players can craft their own branching narratives with multiple outcomes.
- Interact with History: Players will have access to a range of historical and fictional characters from the main game to retell historical events from the main game or create their own.
- Role-Play Options: Players can define role-play options in the dialogue system, such as lying or attacking NPCs, similar to the main game.
The web-based nature of the Story Creator mode means that custom stories are easily shareable and completely cross-platform. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Story Creator mode is now available for free on all platforms.
