Assassin’s Creed Mirage Revealed Alongside Series Roadmap

Ubisoft has revealed next year’s Assassin’s Creed game along with several codenamed titles planned for the series.

During the Ubisoft Forward presentation on Saturday, Ubisoft announced several upcoming entries coming to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including next year’s title, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Additionally, Ubisoft revealed two more HD flagship Assassin’s Creed titles, Codename RED and Codename HEXE, along with a free-to-play AAA mobile game that goes by Codename JADE.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is scheduled to release in 2023 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as PC and Luna. The game is set during ninth-century Baghdad in its Golden Age. Players will embody a new hero named Basim Ibn Is’haq, a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Cinematic Trailer

The cinematic trailer released for Assassin’s Creed Mirage feels reminiscent of older Assassin’s Creed titles, which is purposeful, according to the developers. “Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a tribute to the franchise, and notably to the original game,” said Stéphane Boudon, Senior Content Director for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. “We are bringing a modern take on the iconic Assassin’s Creed gameplay experience, as well as a deep dive into the rituals and tenets of the Hidden Ones, something we think both longtime and new fans alike will be eager to play.”

Two editions of Assassin’s Creed Mirage were announced as well. The Deluxe Edition will include the base game, a digital artbook, the game soundtrack, and various in-game customization items including a Prince of Persia-inspired outfit. The other edition is the Collector’s Case, which will include everything from the Deluxe Edition along with a figurine of Basim, an exclusive Steelbook, a replica of Basim’s brooch, a mini-artbook, and a map of Baghdad.

Ubisoft also unveiled the next two flagship titles to launch following Assassin’s Creed Mirage during Ubisoft Forward. Codename RED, developed by Ubisoft Quebec, will take place in feudal Japan and will be the next title in the series to release after Mirage.  After RED comes Codename HEXE, which is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the original studio behind the first game in the series. Then there’s Codename JADE, which is an upcoming free-to-play Assassin’s Creed mobile game set in ancient China.
