Assassin’s Creed III ranks as one of the favorites in the series for many gamers, so Ubisoft is rightfully giving it a remaster. Assassin’s Creed III Remastered includes all solo DLC from the original game and also throws in Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered. The complete package is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
“The vision was to bring this classic game to match the quality of the current Assassin’s Creed games by taking advantage of newer technology. With increased model improvements and Physically-Based Rendering (PBR), Assassin’s Creed III Remastered displays more visually accurate images using real world light and material properties that make the world feel more alive,” states Ubisoft’s press release. The embedded comparison trailer below shows off some of these new improvements in action.
For those not familiar with the story, Assassin’s Creed III marks the first time that Ubisoft brings the story to North America. Players take control of Connor, the warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. Set during the revolution, you will face a powerful and secretive group trying to prevent the American revolution from taking place. Conner must use his deadly skills as an assassin and regain control of colonial Boston, New York, and various other frontier environments. Assassin’s Creed III also introduced naval battles to the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Additionally, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered includes Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered. This initially PlayStation Vita exclusive takes Aveline on a journey from New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps, and ancient Mayan ruins.
Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is available for $49.99 but is also included in the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey season pass, which we highly recommend.
