Summer Game Fest is officially scheduled to return next year with new gaming announcements and reveals. Geoff Keighley will be back to host the show once again, though this time the production will be on a much larger scale. The announcement comes by way of the official Summer Game Fest organizers in a post today on Twitter.
According to the official announcement, Summer Game Fest 2023 will commence on Thursday, June 8, 2023. The show will take place live in the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California. Summer Game Fest will be a public event next year, with ticket sales going live at a later date. The show will also be streamed online.
Summer Game Fest kicks off days ahead of the new and improved E3 2023. The announcement also comes hot on the heels of The Game Awards 2022, which is scheduled for December 8 and is also hosted by Keighley. Although the awards show has become known for its game announcements and world premieres, Summer Game Fest has garnered its own reputation as a source of gaming updates after swooping in to fill the void following E3’s cancellation earlier this year. The return of E3 next year may mean less major announcements during Summer Game Fest or vice versa.
