Rob McElhenney, known for his role as Mac on the comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, took to the stage during Ubisoft’s E3 presentation to announce a new comedy show. The show, titled Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, is made in conjunction with Ubisoft Film and Television and is the production company’s first live-action comedy series. Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet will air exclusively on Apple Plus TV.
Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is a sitcom that pokes fun at the world of video game development. The show is about a game studio that created a popular, fictional fantasy game called Mythic Quest. The show follows the inner workings and day-to-day events of the game studio’s employees as they prepare to release Mythic Quest’s next expansion. McElhenney stars as the studio’s smug, egotistical creative director, Ian Grimm.
During the E3 presentation, McElhenney described the inspiration behind the personality of Grimm’s character. “Like most of the creative directors I’ve met, he has the ego the size of a city bus,” joked McElhenney.
Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet comes from the creative minds of McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. The sitcom will air exclusively on Apple TV Plus. However, there is no release date just yet.
