Sony is following the lead of their console brethren with their very own video showcase. Titled “State of Play,” Sony’s PlayStation-focused showcase features updates and announcements for PS4 and PS VR.
According to the PlayStation blog, the first episode will include new game trailers, gameplay footage, and game announcements. Viewers can also expect to see some updates for previously announced games for 2019. PlayStation has several exclusives lined up for this year, including Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part II. Hopefully we may see some updates regarding those upcoming titles as well.
Sony’s State of Play presentation will be streamed live across their various social channels, including YouTube and Twitch. Those who miss the live showcase can watch the VOD, which is posted after the broadcast ends. According to Sony, this is the first of many State of Play episodes planned for 2019. “State of Play will return throughout the year with more updates and announcements,” says the official blog.
Last year, Sony announced that they would be opting out of E3 2019, making it the first E3 trade show without an official PlayStation presence in the event’s history. State of Play appears to be the new source of all major PS4 news and updates, so hopefully Sony has prepared something big for the first showcase.
The first episode of State of Play airs on Monday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. PST / 5:00 p.m. EST. You can save this article and tune into the livestream here, or you can visit Sony’s official Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages to watch the event live.
