E3 2021 came to a close on Tuesday, June 15. The all-virtual event wrapped up four days of game reveals and coverage with the Official E3 2021 Awards Show. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and Halo: Infinite were among a slew of upcoming games that made the list of Most Anticipated Games during the award show, with Forza Horizon 5 earning the title of Overall Most Anticipated. The most anticipated games were selected by editors from various media outlets including IGN, GameSpot, GamesRadar+, PC Gamer, Game Bonfire, and IGN China. The results were announced during the live E3 showcase, which was presented by Greg Miller, Jacki Jing, and Alex Mendez.
Although E3 2021 is officially over, Microsoft has even more game announcements lined up for their upcoming Xbox Games Showcase: Extended, which takes place on Thursday, June 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The special extended showcase will feature developers from Double Fine, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, and Rare, amongst others.
