The first gameplay footage of Ark: Survival Ascended was shown during the Xbox Partner Preview on Wednesday, giving viewers a look at the next-generation remake. Ark: Survival Ascended is a top-to-bottom remake of Ark: Survival Evolved that aims to modernize the original game with new gameplay additions and enhancements.

Among the new features coming to the remake is cross-platform mod support, which will bring modding capabilities to players on every platform. Players will have access to the new CurseForge mod browser directly from the in-game menu.
The cross-platform modding capabilities were implemented in part due to the remake being built in Unreal Engine 5, which also makes for some breathtaking graphical enhancements. The remake is also able to utilize various UE5 tools including Lumen global illumination, Nanite rendering, and chaos physics.
