EA Play continued its coverage of what’s coming to their titles this year with the reveal of Apex Legends’ season 2 content. A new legend, electrical engineer Wattson, leads the way. A ranked mode will also be added to allow gamers to show off their skills across 10 tiers of competition.
Wattson Trailer
Wattson is an interesting character being added to Apex Legends. All her skills are aimed at helping your team strategically maintain a position. Electrified fences will alert your team to enemy movements, and her Interception Pylon will help defend against incoming projectiles and recharge Wattson’s abilities faster when in close proximity.
A new ranked mode was also introduced at EA Play. Players will be able to compete and climb the ladder across 10 tiers, each with its own challenges and rewards. There will be a skill cap, so if you’re not up to the task, you’ll remain in the lower tiers. This should provide some interesting bragging rights between your friends.
The Season 2 pass will also include new daily and weekly challenges that do stack, so if you’ve been away for a while, you can more easily catch up. Respawn anticipates that this will allow more gamers to reach level 100 and get more value out of the season pass.
Season 2 of Apex Legends is now available for free.
