Anthem update 1.0.3 gives players some relief for many problems that have been lurking in the game since launch. Of the numerous fixes, audio dropouts, respawn timers, and loot changes are among some of the big-ticket improvements.
Anthem Update 1.0.3
Respawning in Anthem was a troublesome affair. A lot of the times were extremely lengthy and didn’t really match the intensity of the activity. Patch 1.0.3 addresses this by reducing critical path missions, Agent Missions, and non-end-game mission respawns to 10 seconds. Meanwhile, end-game content has a respawn timer of 30 seconds. This change will allow players to get back into the fight without the need for a revive.
Players that have made it to level 30 will be pleased to hear common and uncommon gear will no longer drop for them. Previously, a high-level player’s loot could contain gear that is no longer of any use. By removing white and green drops, these players should now see a shift toward rarer items.
As mentioned above, audio dropouts have also been addressed in the latest Anthem update. This was an issue that plagued the user experience since launch, and despite some fixes being introduced, the problem persisted for many. Hopefully these improvements significantly reduce the likelihood that you’ll have to finish a Stronghold with zero audio cues.
Outside of the main hitters, there are also a lot of smaller tweaks and fixes in the update, as well as some gear, ability, and item rebalancing. It’s a long list of changes, so be sure to head over to the Anthem news page to check out the full patch notes.
Anthem kind of stumbled out the gate at launch, but BioWare has been doing an admirable job to get it up to speed. However, only time will tell whether these ongoing patches and the free content updates are enough to bring players back. Check out Guide Stash’s Anthem page for more news and updates.
