Happy Home Paradise Reveal Trailer
Inspired by Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, the upcoming Happy Home Paradise expansion takes decorating to a new level in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To access the DLC, players travel to an off-island resort where they can work as a developer who designs vacation homes for clients.
After choosing a location on the archipelago, players can begin customizing both the indoor and outdoor spaces of the villager’s dream vacation home. Happy Home Paradise features an advanced suite of design tools that go beyond what players can typically do on their home islands. One such notable feature is the outdoor design tool, which allows players to place down furniture, trees, paths, and more using the same drag-and-drop method used for interior home design.
Here are some of HHP’s exclusive design features:
- Partition Walls
- Counters
- Pillars
- Ambient Lighting
- Soundscapes
- Furniture Polishing
After a hard day of remodeling at the Resort, you can take the new design skills you’ve acquired and use them on your home island, provided you’ve earned them in the DLC. Players also earn a special currency called Poki that is used for buying items from the main office of the Resort, where rare furniture items are sold. You can even invite your own villagers to the Resort for a custom vacation home remodel, which can later be applied to your villager’s home design.
Happy Home Paradise releases for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on November 5, 2021, alongside the Version 2.0 update, the last free update for New Horizons. The paid expansion costs $24.99 USD and will be available for pre-order on October 29. The expansion can be purchased separately or within the newly announced Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack membership. You can find out more over on the Nintendo website.
