At long last, a major update is on the horizon for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct showcase will air next week, according to a recent announcement from Nintendo via Twitter. The roughly 20-minute presentation will feature details about what’s in store for the next major content update in New Horizons.

Last month, Nintendo released a short teaser revealing the news that an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct would air in October. The video also teased the arrival of The Roost café as a new addition to player museums in New Horizons. The Roost has appeared in previous Animal Crossing games, thus implying the arrival of fan-favorite character Brewster as well.
Despite its success, New Horizons has been sorely lacking in post-launch content updates since its release in March 2020. Aside from seasonal event content, there have been virtually no major updates or additions to the game until now.
Next week’s Direct showcase will reveal details about The Roost, Brewster and other new features coming in the next big update. The update itself is expected to arrive in November, though no date has been specified. Check back soon for more Animal Crossing: New Horizons news, guides, and updates.
