Developer SCS Software has been working hard on not one, but two map expansions for American Truck Simulator. The first is the Wyoming expansion, which was revealed in December 2020. Recently, the developers announced that a second DLC is in the works that will take drivers to the open roads of Texas.
American Truck Simulator Texas Trailer
The developers have released a series of work-in-progress screenshots for the upcoming Texas expansion, giving players a glimpse of what’s to come. The screenshots and accompanying video show some of the landmarks and attractions featured in the upcoming DLC. The images also give a sense of the varying landscapes and environments found throughout Texas.
According to the announcement, the Texas expansion is still very early in development and is further behind the Wyoming DLC in terms of production. Given this, don’t expect to visit Texas in American Truck Simulator any time soon. “Being one of the largest U.S states, it will bring its own challenges during the various stages of production,” explain the developers. “Whilst we know many of you are very excited about this HUGE addition to American Truck Simulator, we cannot commit to a release date that is within the year.”
