SCS Software will be giving truckers the opportunity to be involved in Texas’ booming space industry in its upcoming Texas DLC for American Truck Simulator. Truckers can look forward to exploring launch sites from previous space missions and will have the chance to make deliveries for the Starbay facility.
SCS Software has provided several new in-progress space industry screenshots in a recent blog post on the upcoming content. The developer has also recently released a gameplay video showcasing how the massive Texas map expansion is coming along so far. You can watch the Texas DLC gameplay video below.
“Texas is home to state-of-the-art development and test sites for multiple commercial space firms, and research shows that the space industry is big work for the state, bringing in 11 billion dollars per year in revenue and providing hundreds of thousands of jobs,” explains the blog post. “So it wouldn’t be right for us to miss this out-of-this-world opportunity to include it in our upcoming Texas DLC for American Truck Simulator.”
As part of the space industry content, truckers will be able to deliver important goods and construction materials for Texas’ Starbay facility, which features a spaceport and production areas. Truckers will also be able to explore Houston’s famous space center, where previously used rockets and shuttles will be on display.
Although there is no release date for the Texas map expansion just yet, American Truck Simulator players are encouraged to wishlist the Texas DLC on Steam in the meantime. Stay tuned to Guide Stash for more ATS updates.
