There are a few different type of Collector’s Chests in Sea of Thieves and each of them can hold a few items.

Collector’s Chests are most often found washed up on the shore in Sea of Thieves. These look like normal bits of treasure from a distance, glinting and glowing. As you get closer, you will see that they are actually the type of chest that can be opened.

There are a few more types of Collector’s Chest specific to certain voyages in the Shores of Gold Tall Tale. For example, the Legendary Storyteller and Wild Rose both have unique chests. Once these chests have fulfilled their purpose, they can be used as standard Collector’s Chests – they’ll just look a bit different.

The Collector’s Chest can be opened and stuff placed inside. This is great at ferrying items to and from your ship.

To put stuff in the chest, place it on the ground and open the lid. From here, you can insert three small items. You can place skulls, gems, trinkets, and other small items inside (check out our guide on where to find mermaid gems!) Unfortunately, you cannot place chests or other large, two-handed items in the box. There are a few smaller one-hand items that cannot go in the chest either, though these are few and far between.

These Collector’s Chests are a great way to ferry items from your ship to the trading companies. For instance, place three skulls in the chest and carry the chest to the Order of Souls. This cuts down on the number of trips you need to make to and from your ship.

Collector’s Chests are a handy new type of treasure chest in Sea of Thieves. These can be found washed up ashore while a few special ones are included in the Shores of Gold Tall Tale. Take a moment to check out the Guide Stash Sea of Thieves archive for more helpful tips.
