Completing Daily Challenges in Red Dead Online is just one of the many ways for players to earn gold and money. These challenges vary, and one of them requires players to catch a certain fish. This guide will show you the Sockeye Salmon location in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Sockeye Salmon Location

There are many kinds of fish that players can catch in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Sometimes Daily Challenges will ask players to catch certain fish like the challenge “0/3 Sockeye Salmon caught”.
Sockeye Salmon sometimes can be seen leaping upstream in their habitat of fast-flowing, cold river water. Sockeye Salmon are hefty fish that are sought after for their taste and prefer a certain type of lure.
Sockeye Salmon can be found in the more northern location of Red Dead Redemption 2 where it is known to be colder. The one location we will be focusing on is a familiar spot known to hold several different kinds of birds and fish.
Players will want to head east of Strawberry to the Owanjila Dam and just a little further to the Owanjila Lake. Once you arrive on the spot on the map above, be sure to equip the fishing rod and the River Lures, as Sockeye Salmon are very tempted by it.
After catching three Sockey Salmon, you will complete the Daily Challenge and net yourself a little bit of gold. Players will also earn some Succulent Fish Meat, and, if you choose to sell the meat, you can get $4.25 in Valentine, Trappers in New Hanover, or West Elizabeth. Or you can take it to St. Denis, Rhodes, Blackwater, or Tumbleweed.
Since you are at Owanjila Lake, be sure to keep an eye out for any Loons, and stay tuned to Guide Stash for more guides and news on Red Dead Redemption 2.
