Colter Location – Red Dead Redemption 2

Here is where you can find the abandoned mining town of Colter in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of places that players can revisit or discover for the first time in Red Dead Online. One of these locations just happens to be where the story for Red Dead Redemption 2 begins. This guide will show you where the Colter location is.

Colter Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a wide variety of terrain to explore. Players can go from the desert to the open plains, to the swamp and even to snow-capped mountains. Colter happens to be in one of the locations I love: the mountains.

Since players will be heading up into the mountains, it is best to dress for the occasion. Remember that elements play a factor in how you respond and survive, so dress warmly. After donning your winter outfit, head to the Ambarino region and go north of Grizzlies West. I recommend staying on the path, as it will be the most efficient way to travel through the snow.

Once you arrive in Colter, one of two things will happen, depending on whether you are playing the Story Mode or Free Roam Mode online. If you are playing the Story Mode, visit the grave of the late Van der Linde gang member Davey Callander. Doing so will result in you earning the “Paying Respects” trophy or achievement.

For those playing in Free Roam Mode, you have the chance to run into a gang hideout at this location. Clearing out the gang can net you some money and other useful items if you loot the bodies. After discovering the Colter location, you should be able to Fast Travel here from any Stage Coach location. Be sure to stay tuned to Guide Stash for more Red Dead Redemption 2 content.
