Finding certain animals in Red Dead Online can be a challenging and dangerous task. Luckily, searching for the Banded Armadillo is less dangerous than others. Since the Banded Armadillo prefers the desert climate, players will need to make their way to the New Austin area.

Armadillos can be found all throughout New Austin, but some areas have a higher chance of encountering one than others. Hanging around the town of Armadillo will be the quickest way to bag one of these bad boys.

Upon entering the town of Armadillo, head to the railroad tracks and continue north towards Twin Rocks. You will want to take it slow, as the Banded Armadillo could easily sneak by without you knowing. Make sure to use your Eagle Eye to help spot them.

If you’re up for more of an adventure and don’t mind going the distance, head north of Tumbleweed to Rathskeller Fork. Once you reach the fork in the road right before Rathskeller Fork, you should see a Banded Armadillo ready to greet you.

While any weapon can be used to take down an armadillo, it is best to use the Varmint Rifle. Using the Varmint Rifle will ensure that you will not lose any pelt quality.
