Solving this puzzle in Pokémon Sword and Shield requires you to ring the piercing note.

Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra is abundant with Legendary Pokémon for trainers to catch. Some of these require the player to solve a puzzle to be let into the temple the Pokémon calls home. This guide will tell you how to let ring the piercing note to catch Registeel.

How to Let Ring the Piercing Note

The entrance to Registeel’s temple is south of Freezington, in the Giant’s Bed region on the west side of the area. When you arrive at the temple, you will gain a checkpoint, so you can easily fly to it later. When trainers approach and interact with the temple door, they are greeted with this message. “Let ring the piercing note that will wake the giant of steel.” This requires the player to use the whistle feature that attracts the attention of wild Pokémon.

To whistle, click the left joystick button down and the door will open. Make sure you are facing the entrance when whistling. After you successfully whistle, the doors will open for you. Once you enter the temple, you will see several dots on the floor that represent Registeel. Walking across all the dots on the floor will light them up. When all the lights are lit up, you will notice a change in the air.

Lastly approach the statue in the back and you will start your encounter with Registeel to battle and catch. Registeel is a Steel-type Pokémon, so you will want to have Fighting, Fire, or Ground-type Pokémon to beat it. Now that you know how to let ring the piercing note, head over to Snowslide Slope to learn how to walk together with a living crystal of snow.
