Pokémon Scarlet and Violet takes place in a vast region called Paldea. Trainers will explore the area while mounted to the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon or Miraidon, depending on which version is being played. Eventually, trainers will need to acquire more skills for Koraidon and Miraidon to reach certain areas. This guide will show you how to upgrade Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Upgrade Koraidon and Miraidon
After trainers receive their starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they will encounter a Legendary Pokémon named Koraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokémon Violet. These Pokémon serve as the trainer’s mount and primary mode of travel in the Paldea region and can learn new skills that will assist in traveling.
In order to upgrade these Legendary Pokémon, trainers must defeat five titan Pokémon in the Path of Legends questline. These titan Pokémon are giant versions of Pokémon you will encounter on your travels. Defeating each Pokémon will grant access to a special herb that, when added to a sandwich and fed to Koraidon or Miraidon, will upgrade them with additional abilities. Below are the abilities, the mission names attached to them, and recommended level for your party.
|Dashing||Stony Cliff Titan||15|
|Swimming||Open Sky Titan||19|
|High Jump||Lurking Steel Titan||28|
|Gliding||Quaking Earth Titan||44|
|Climbing||False Dragon Titan||55|
Thanks to the open nature of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can complete these in any order if your party is strong enough. It is recommended to do them in this order, so you can access certain areas quicker. Completing all upgrades will allow you to explore all Paldea regions with ease.
