How to Do the Kucherov Deke – NHL 21

The Kucherov deke is one you will want to score with in NHL 21

Video game hockey is back with NHL 21, bringing some new features and offensive moves for players to master. One of those new moves was pulled off by Tampa Bay Lightning superstar, Nikita Kucherov. This guide will show you how to do The Kucherov deke in NHL 21

How to Do The Kucherov Deke

A deke is a deceptive move to help fake out your opponent. These moves are used when a player is trying to score or get around another player. These dekes can range in difficulty.

The Kucherov deke is also known as the “No Deke”, deke. The player goes into a stride deke and pretends to fake a deke only to let the puck glide into the goal. This deke can be pulled off with left-handed and right-handed players.

Left-Handed Players

The first step is to get into a stride deke. Press and hold L1 (PS4) or LB (Xbox) depending on your system. Flick the left stick to the right and then the right stick to the left. Swing from right to left to get the puck in the net.

Right-Handed Players

Press and hold L1 (PS4) or LB (Xbox) depending on your system. Flick the left stick to the left and then the right stick to the right. Swing from left to right to get the puck in the net.

The biggest issue you may run into will be making sure you are swinging in the right direction depending on what handedness your player is. The Kucherov deke may not be too hard to pull off, but scoring with it will be difficult. It is best used against human goalies as opposed to CPU goalies.
