How Crossplay Works in Naraka: Bladepoint

Find out how the crossplay system works between the Xbox and PC versions of Naraka: Bladepoint.

After initially launching on PC in 2021, action battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint is now available for Xbox Game Pass on Xbox Series X and S and will be coming to Xbox One later this year. The game’s console debut has prompted the question of whether Naraka: Bladepoint supports crossplay between the Xbox and PC versions. This guide will explain how crossplay works in Naraka: Bladepoint and how to disable crossplay on Xbox if desired.

Is Naraka: Bladepoint Crossplay?

In short, yes, Naraka: Bladepoint supports crossplay as well as cross-progression. In Naraka: Bladepoint, crossplay is available between Xbox and PC players, but with a few limitations. According to the Naraka: Bladepoint website, Xbox players can only crossplay with PC players who purchased the game on the Microsoft Store, but can choose to crossplay with other PC players on the Steam or Epic Games Store versions. However, Microsoft Store PC players do not have such a choice and must crossplay with all players across Xbox and other PC versions.

The developers are also currently aware of a bug pertaining to crossplay between Steam and Xbox players. “We have been made aware of the current situation regarding social functions with other platforms, and we can only apologize for any inconvenience. Currently Xbox users can only add other Microsoft PC users as friends and team up, but can still choose to match with users from other PC platforms. Our development team will continue to look into this issue and will provide any updates in the future.”

It is also worth noting that Naraka: Bladepoint cross-progression is only possible between the Xbox and Microsoft Store versions. There is no cross-progression for the Steam or Epic Games Store versions at this time.

Naraka: Bladepoint – How to Disable Crossplay on Xbox

Naraka Bladepoint Crossplay Settings 1024x576 - How Crossplay Works in Naraka: Bladepoint

Under the Game tab within the Settings, there is a Cross-Platform game switch setting that is set to “On” by default. Since this setting cannot be turned to “Off,” it seems there is no way to disable crossplay in Naraka: Bladepoint, at least not from within the game client.

In order to turn off crossplay entirely, you must disable crossplay on the Xbox itself from within the console settings. Doing so will not only turn off crossplay in Naraka: Bladepoint, it will also disable crossplay across all games that have the feature. You will have to undo these settings if you want to enable crossplay in other games.

To disable crossplay on Xbox, navigate to Settings on the Xbox home then go to these submenus:

  • General
  • Online Safety & Family
  • Privacy & Online Safety
  • Xbox Live Privacy
  • View Details & Customize
  • Communication & Multiplayer
  • Under “You can join cross-network play,” select Block.

Blocking the cross network play option will disable crossplay on all Xbox games that have it. This will also prevent crossplay with PC players in Naraka: Bladepoint. Be sure to unblock this setting when you want crossplay to resume, in Naraka: Bladepoint or otherwise.
