Fortnite is already on Week 5 of Season 9, which means there’s a new bundle of challenges to complete alongside collecting Fortbytes. One of the Week 5 challenges requires players to visit different wind turbines in a single match in Fortnite. You will have to visit five wind turbines total to mark off the challenge. We’ll explain where to find wind turbines in Fortnite and how to go about visiting enough of them in a single match.
Where to Visit Different Wind Turbines in a Single Match
Although visiting five different wind turbines in Fortnite may sound like a daunting task, Epic has made this challenge a bit easier by grouping all the wind turbines together. Every wind turbine that we know of in Fortnite is located in the northwest (upper left) quadrant of the map. Refer to the circled areas on the map below to find each wind turbine in Fortnite.
There are five wind turbines atop the peaks surrounding Pleasant Park. There are also two more wind turbines further south, to the east of Snobby Shores. While it may seem that the five around Pleasant Park are the easiest to visit back to back, the wind turbines further south seem a bit closer together.
Another thing to keep in mind is that every wind turbine is on some sort of hill or mountainside. While visiting wind turbines, we noticed that approaching the base of the turbine does not count toward the challenge. Instead, you must reach the landing area at the top of the turbine. There is usually a zipline nearby that will help you get up there if you don’t land from above. Keep an eye out for Grapplers and Ballers that will help you easily trek each hillside.
Your best bet is to attempt this challenge in one of the team-based LTMs, such as Team Rumble. This will lower your chances of running into enemies along the way. Plus, in Team Rumble, being eliminated doesn’t count against you, and it may actually be easier to visit each turbine by dying and respawning multiple times instead of running to each one on foot.
