Find out where to consume foraged items for the Hunter and the Hunted challenge in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 1.
One of Fortnite’s Hunter and the Hunted challenges (formerly known as the Hide and Seek challenges) requires players to consume foraged items in Battle Royale. You may recall doing a similar task in previous seasons. This time, however, there are less items to choose from. This guide will explain what sorts of items count as foraged items in Fortnite and where you can go to consume these items to complete this Week 6 challenge.
Season 1 of Fortnite Chapter 2 currently contains three types of foraged items: apples, coconuts, and mushrooms. Each is a consumable item that restores a portion of the player’s health and/or shields. These foraged items are located in specific areas of the map. You’ll need to know where to look for them if you’re hoping to mark off this challenge.
Consume Foraged Items in Fortnite
To consume a foraged item in Fortnite, you must have either your shield meter or your health meter somewhat depleted. You cannot consume foraged items when these attributes are at 100, depending on the item you’re trying to consume.
In general, you can find and consume foraged items in or around Slurpy Swamp, Sweaty Sands, and Frenzy Farm. Conveniently, landing at these three locations will also complete another one of the Hunter and the Hunted challenges. We’ve circled where to consume various foraged items on the map below and have included a brief description for each in case you are looking for one in particular.
- Mushrooms (+5 Shield) – Mushrooms are found in several different locations across the map and are most readily found on the ground in Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp. There are also a few mushrooms on the west side of Frenzy Farm.
- Apples (+5 Health) – On the north side of Frenzy Farm, look for a landmark called The Orchard. Here, you will find apples on the ground beneath the trees, as well as on the tree trunks.
- Coconuts (+5 health or shield) – Coconuts can be harvested from the trees throughout Sweaty Sands to the west. Destroy the trees with your harvesting tool to drop some coconuts if there aren’t any on the ground.
Consuming 10 foraged items in Fortnite for the Hunter and the Hunted challenge set will reward you with 52,000 XP and will get you one step closer to unlocking the Hunter and the Hunted loading screen, which contains the hidden letter “i”.
