Fortbytes are a new type of collectible in Fortnite that arrived at the start of Season 9. Players can complete various Fortbyte challenges to reveal squares on the mysterious Fortbyte image. Some Fortbytes can be found on the map as well. One such Fortbyte is Fortbyte 36, which is “accessible by Sentinel on a frozen island,” according to its description. We’ll explain what that means and how to get this Fortbyte in Fortnite to increase your collection.
Fortbyte #36 – Accessible by Sentinel on Frozen Island
The description of Fortbyte 36 in Fortnite gives players an idea of where it is located. However, it’s important to note that this Fortbyte also says that it is “accessible by Sentinel.” This means that you must equip the Sentinel skin before heading into a match to collect Fortbyte 36.
The Sentinel skin is unlocked in the first tier of the upgraded Season 9 Battle Pass. Since you likely already own the Battle Pass if you are searching for the Fortbytes, all you have to do is visit your Locker and equip the robotic Sentinel outfit.
With the Sentinel equipped, enter a match and make your way to the snow biome in Fortnite. More specifically, you must head to the small frozen island at the southwest corner of the map. We’ve marked the location on the map below. You can either land on the frozen island directly from the Battle Bus, or you can ride one of the ziplines from the mainland.
Fortbyte 36 should be pretty easy to spot, as there’s not really much else on this island. Collect the Fortbyte and be on your way. Make sure to finish the match normally so that it counts toward your collection progress. After successfully collecting Fortbyte 36, another tile will be revealed on the Fortbytes mystery image.
If you’re on the hunt for more Fortbytes, be sure to pick up the Fortbyte found within Fatal Fields as well. New Fortbytes are unlocked each day, so check back here for details.
