Fallout 4 console commands can be overwhelming, but there are a few that are easy to use and come in handy for PC players. One console command PC players should know is god mode. This feature is useful not just for staying alive, but also crafting and building. In this guide, I’ll show you how to toggle it on and off using console commands.
Fallout 4 God Mode

PC players can toggle god mode on and off with the following steps:
- Press the tilde (~) key on the keyboard to open the console command menu
- Type tgm
- Press Enter
- Press the tilde (~) key on the keyboard to close the console command menu
From this point on, players will be unable to take damage or die from enemies or other sources. While that isn’t appealing to most because they want the challenge of combat, it can be useful for other things, such as building and crafting. I’ve personally flipped between playthroughs where I used this cheat to build giant settlements, and other runs where I stuck only with what I looted or scrapped out in the world. The grind to find the resources to build huge settlements can suck the fun out at times, and god mode is a great way to alleviate that grind. Just don’t forget to turn it off, otherwise you’ll wonder why you keep getting shot and not taking damage. I’ve been there more than once.
Players can use god mode for any reason they want, but of course console commands are only available on PC. Players on PlayStation and Xbox will not be able to use this handy tool, but both platforms have mods that could help depending on the problem at hand.
Hopefully you know how to enable and disable god mode. Be sure to check out the best unique and legendary weapons in Fallout 4.
