How to Stop Invasions in Elden Ring

Tired of being invaded by hostile players in Elden Ring? Here’s what you can do to prevent the invasions.

Elden Ring features several multiplayer options for players looking to join other Tarnished in the Lands Between. You can summon players for online co-op or invade other players to challenge them in competitive multiplayer. Though invasions can be fun, some players may want to turn off invasions entirely. While there’s no ‘off switch’ for invasions, there is a way to stop invasions from happening in Elden Ring.

How to Stop Invasions

To stop being invaded by enemy players in Elden Ring, the only real option is to play in offline mode. This will also disable other multiplayer features in the game, such as messages and co-op play. However, if you really want to avoid being invaded by other players, then playing offline is the way to go.

Here’s how to play offline:

  1. Launch Elden Ring.
  2. On the Main Menu, select System.
  3. Open the Network tab.
  4. Select Play Offline as the Launch Setting.
  5. Re-launch the game to apply the new settings.

Once you are in offline mode, you will no longer be invaded by other players. Keep in mind that this only applies to PvP invasions–you can still be invaded by hostile NPCs in the game.

If you don’t want to play offline, then you may want to keep the White Cipher Ring activated while you play. This item will automatically summon the help of a Hunter from another world (if available) to aid you upon being invaded. You can also activate this item after being invaded. The White Cipher Ring can be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold for 1,000 Runes.

Now that you know how to stop PvP invasions entirely in Elden Ring, you can continue enjoying the game free of interruptions from enemy players. Be sure to check out our Elden Ring archives for more gameplay tips and guides.
