Doom Eternal will release later this year with an all new asymmetrical mode called Battlemode.
Most of us know by now that Doom Eternal is the next installment in beloved Doom series. However, we just learned a few more interesting things about the upcoming game during Bethesda’s E3 2019 press conference, including the release date for Doom Eternal. The presentation featured a new story trailer for Doom Eternal that offered several new details about the bloody sequel, along with a new multiplayer game mode to keep the adrenaline pumping.
Doom Eternal Release Date
If you enjoyed Doom in 2016 and want more of the carnage, you don’t have much longer to wait. All hell breaks loose on November 22, 2019. Doom Eternal releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia.
Based on the new trailer for Doom Eternal, we now know that players will be able to visit several new locations. That’s right, you are not forever stuck in Hell. Heaven will be option, and so will a demon-infested Earth. Adding new locations to unleash mayhem has been a desired feature since 2016.
Doom Eternal – BATTLEMODE
Alongside the story trailer, Bethesda also revealed a new multiplayer game mode for Doom Eternal called Battlemode, which has been “built from the ground up at id Software.” In Battlemode, one player takes the role of a fully-kitted Doom Slayer, while two other players each take on the roles of vicious demons. The players go head to head in a 2-versus-1 battle that lasts for three rounds.
Battlemode is an asymmetrical experience similar to that of the 2K game Evolve. Id Software is hoping this new multiplayer game mode will pit skill against strategy in a unique gameplay experience. You can get a feel for the new asymmetrical mode in the Battlemode multiplayer teaser trailer below.
Pre-orders for Doom Eternal are available now on the Slayers Club website. Those who pre-order Doom Eternal will receive a new DOOT Revenant skin, a “Cultist Base” master level, and an additonal shotgun weapon skin.
