The Palindrome God Roll – Destiny 2

The Palindrome is an exceptional Hand Canon in Destiny 2. Here are the recommended PvE and PvP perks.

Nightfall weapons give Guardians an extended arsenal to go after. One of those weapons is a Legendary Hand Cannon called The Palindrome. This weapon can only be obtained during the week it is available. Some Guardians may want to get certain perks that make The Palindrome suit their play style. Here are the recommended perks that make up The Palindrome god roll.

Hand Canons in Destiny 2 seem to be the weapon of choice for those who play PvP, but this Hand Cannon can come with some great perks that will make it a PvE weapon of choice as well. Here are the recommended PvE Perks for The Palindrome god roll for PvE.

PvE Perk Slot 1

There are several barrels you will want to keep an eye out for in the first perk slot. Range isn’t as crucial in PvE as it is in PvP, so mixing Range and Stability – and in this case Handling – is a good bet. Corkscrew Rifling is great, but so is Smallbore.

  • Corkscrew Rifling: +5 Range, +5 Stability, and +5 Handling
  • Fluted Barrel: +5 Stability and +15 Handling
  • Hammer-Forged Rifling: +10 Range
  • Smallbore: +7 Range and +7 Stability

PvE Perk Slot 2

Both Magazine options increase Magazine Size, but one will decrease reload time. Keep an eye out for the Appended Mag.

  • Extended Mag: +30 Magazine and -20 Reload Speed
  • Appended Mag: +20 Magazine

PvE Perk Slot 3

Perk slot three has three different perks to look out for. Outlaw and Overflow will be the two you really want to keep your eye out for.

  • Overflow: Picking up Special or Heavy ammo reloads this weapon to beyond normal capacity
  • Bottomless Grief: While you are the last living member of your fireteam, each takedown refills your magazine
  • Outlaw: Precision kills greatly decrease reload time

PvE Perk Slot 4

Three unique perks to look out for in the last perk slot. I prefer Rampage over the others for the extra damage.

  • One For All: Hitting three separate targets increases damage for a moderate duration
  • Thresh: Killing combatants with this weapon generates a small amount of Super Energy
  • Rampage: Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x

The Palindrome 1024x576 - The Palindrome God Roll – Destiny 2

Being killed by a Hand Cannon is a very common occurrence in PvP. I have never been very skilled with a Hand Cannon, but with the right perks I can at least be competitive. Here are the recommended PvP perks:

PvP Perk Slot 1

It is all about Range when it comes to the barrel you want in the first perk slot. Hammer-Forged Rifling is ideal, but don’t throw away a potential god roll if you get Smallbore instead.

  • Fluted Barrel: +5 Stability and +15 Handling
  • Hammer-Forged Rifling: +10 Range
  • Smallbore: +7 Range and +7 Stability
  • Polygonal Rifling: +10 Stability

PvP Perk Slot 2

Extending Range is what you will be looking for. While either of these perks will work, why not have the bonus Stability?

  • High-Caliber Rounds: +5 Range
  • Ricochet Rounds: +5 Range and +10 Stability

PvP Perk Slot 3

I like Quickdraw with my Hand Cannons, but I also run The Dragon’s Shadow as a Hunter so I’m not tied to this perk on this Hand Cannon. Killing Wind is a great second option.

  • Overflow: Picking up Special or Heavy ammo reloads this weapon to beyond normal capacity
  • Quickdraw: This weapon can be drawn unbelievably fast
  • Killing Wind: Final blows grant increased mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short duration

PvP Perk Slot 4

Unfortunately, there is only one perk you are looking for in the last perk slot.

  • Rangefinder: Aiming this weapon increases its effective range and zoom magnification.

The Palindrome is a great Hand Cannon to add to your already great arsenal that you have acquired over your time in Destiny 2. Thanks to light.gg for having all the available perks that you can obtain. Be sure to check out our Destiny 2 archives for even more guides and news.
