The world of Destiny 2 is full of different currencies and methods to earn them. One currency required for Guardians to collect is Mod Components. This guide will show you how to get Mod Components in Destiny 2.
How to Get Mod Components

Destiny 2 has a way of introducing items that will confuse players with either what they are for or how to get them should supply run low. Mod Components are used to buy mods from either Banshee-44 or Ada-1, but quite a few players don’t know how to get them. They’ve always just had them.
The easiest way to collect Mod Components in Destiny 2 is to complete Gunsmith bounties. Guardians can grab Gunsmith bounties by visiting Banshee-44 in the Tower. Banshee will have several bounties to choose from. Each requires a different weapon to complete. Most will only take a few minutes, so they’re worth doing here and there to keep your Mod Component stash full. In fact, each bounty will give two Mod Components, so players can get eight Mod Components per day without buying the random bounty or switching characters. Once these bounties are complete, turn them in from your quest log and you will be rewarded with your precious Mod Components.
The second way to obtain Mod Components is to dismantle Legendary Weapons. It is best to dismantle ones you are not using or if you have an overabundance of one. Once the weapon is dismantled, you will receive some glimmer, weapon parts, and the chance to earn a Mod Component. This is a very unreliable method, though, so focus more on doing bounties from Banshee-44.
After collecting enough Mod Components, you will be able to purchase Mods from Banshee-44. Mods can be inserted into both weapons and armor and are extremely helpful in how they let players fine tune their builds.
It is always best to check in daily with Banshee-44 to see what Mods he has available as they may be ones you don’t have. Now that you know how to get the Mod Components required, check out the Destiny 2 archives for more guides and news.
