The weekly reset is here in Destiny 2 and it is bringing one of the most wanted exotic weapons with it. I’m talking about the Thorn. The Thorn was one of the most popular exotic hand cannons in Destiny. It was also one of the most annoying exotic weapons to be shot by in PvP. Finding out how to start the Thorn quest on your own is a little tricky. If you’re wondering how to begin the Thorn quest in Destiny 2, we have you covered.
How To Begin The Thorn Quest
The first step in beginning the Thorn quest is to load into Trostland in the EDZ on Earth. Summon your sparrow and head north past the church and into the Salt Mines.
Once you’ve made it through the Salt Mines, head toward the transporter near the broken elevator. It will take you to the next area you need to be in.
Follow the trail up the hill, avoiding any Fallen you find along the way. You can take them out if you want, but if you’re in a hurry, just ignore them.
Once you reach the top of the hill, follow the rusted-out railing on the left. Jump up to the ledge and follow the path until you reach an abandoned campsite.
Upon reaching the campsite, you will want to look in the fire pit that will be on your left-hand side. When you are prompted to sift through the ashes, you will pick up “A Melted Hunk of Metal.” With this item in your inventory, you will now be able to begin the Thorn quest.
I have to give Bungie a big round of applause for hiding it cleverly and in a way that is unlike most exotic quests. If you’re looking to see what lies ahead in completing the Thorn quest in Destiny 2, we have a step by step guide just for you.
