Gnawing Hunger is a Legendary Auto Rifle players can get in Season of Arrivals. To obtain this weapon, players will need to acquire an Umbral Engram. Focusing your Umbral Engram into a Lead-Focused Umbral Engram gives you a higher chance of acquiring one. Doing so will greatly increase the chance of getting a PvE or PvP god roll. Here are the recommended perks that make up the Gnawing Hunger god roll in Destiny 2.
Gnawing Hunger God Roll – PvE
Gnawing Hunger is one of the fastest firing Auto Rifles in Destiny 2. Since it has such a high fire rate, the damage it puts out isn’t that great. You will want to focus more on being able to handle the weapon while doing as much damage you can. Our favorite perks are in bold, but any of them are great to have.
PvE Perk Slot 1
The barrel you are looking for will help control Recoil, Handling, or Stability.
- Arrowhead Brake: +10 Handling and +30 Recoil
- Chambered Compensator: +10 Stability, +10 Recoil, and -5 Handling
- Corkscrew Rifling: +5 Range, +5 Stability, and +5 Handling
PvE Perk Slot 2
Since you will be spraying so many bullets, you will want to focus on getting a magazine that increases Magazine size and Reload Speed.
- Tactical Mag: +5 Stability, +10 Magazine, +10 Reload Speed
- Extended Mag: -20 Reload Speed and +30 Magazine
- Appended Mag: +20 Magazine
PvE Perk Slot 3
A perk that increases Stability is the best to have in the third Perk Slot.
- Tap the Trigger: Grants a short period of increased stability and accuracy on initial trigger pull.
- Zen Moment: Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.
- Subsistence: Kills partially reload the magazine from reserves, but reserves capacity is reduced
PvE Perk Slot 4
Any of these three perks will be great to have in slot four. The perk you choose will depend on your play style.
- Rampage: Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x
- Multikill Clip: Reloading grants increased damage based on the number of rapid kills made beforehand.
- Demolitionist: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
Gnawing Hunger God Roll – PvP
Gnawing Hunger has been running rampant in PvP since Season of Arrivals began. I would know, since I have been using it myself and have been defeated by others using it. The PvP perks are going to be slightly different from the PvE perks. Once again, our favorite perks are in bold.
PvP Perk Slot 1
The barrels for PvP are going to focus more on Range. This means you may have to sacrifice Handling.
- Extended Barrel: +10 Range, +10 Recoil, and -10 Handling
- Hammer-Forged Rifling: +10 Range
- Smallbore: +7 Range and +7 Stability
PvP Perk Slot 2
I like to take enemies out from a distance, but with a high rate of fire. Stability is going to be key in the second slot.
- Tactical Mag: +5 Stability, +10 Magazine, +10 Reload Speed
- Accurized Rounds: +10 Range
PvP Perk Slot 3
You will only be looking for two specific perks in the third slot. Both will increase your Stability.
- Tap the Trigger: Grants a short period of increased stability and accuracy on initial trigger pull.
- Zen Moment: Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.
PvP Perk Slot 4
Once again you will be looking for only two specific perks. I would look for the one that increases damage.
- Demolitionist: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
- Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
