Update 10/09/2019: With the release of Shadowkeep, you can no longer seek out individual forge locations in Destiny 2. Instead, the EDZ map in the Director has a forge activity launch icon. The forge available rotates on a daily basis and you launch it just like you would launch a strike or any other activity.
The original guide continues below…
There are four forge locations hidden around the world of Destiny 2. Finding these forges can be a bit tough, as they are tucked away in areas you likely haven’t travelled to often. If you want to start getting powerful weapons and armor, you’ll need to first know where to find each forge.
Forge locations
The four forges are located in the European Dead Zone and Nessus in Destiny 2. These forges were added as part of the Black Armory DLC included in the Annual Pass. Complete Ada-1’s bounties to unlock the forges to be able to forge powerful weapon frames. Completing forges is an excellent way of getting powerful weapons and armor, which will help raise your power level.
Volundr forge location

The Volunder forge is located in the EDZ in the Sunken Isles. This area is to the far north, near the Cabal ship, Orobas Vectura. Using the fast travel point in the Sunken Isles, stick to the left and go into the tunnels. Follow the route down into the cavern and go to the right, there will be a doorway blocked by pillars. Continue deeper into the level to reach the Volundr forge arena.
Gofannon forge locations
The Gofannon forge is located on Nessus at the Artifact’s Edge fast travel point. From the spawn point, turn right and look to the crashed ship. Go past the ship and through a hole in the wall. Continue along the path to enter the Gofannon forge arena.
Izanami forge locations
The Izanami forge is also located on Nessus and it too is available via the Artifact’s Edge fast travel point. Jump down from the spawn point and go straight toward the Hallows. Drop down the hole and go toward the big sphere hanging from the roof. To the side of this room is a Vex gate, passing through it takes you directly to the Izanami forge.
Bergusia forge locations
The Bergusia forge is the last one unlocked in the Black Armory DLC. This forge is located in the EDZ to the far south past Sojourner’s Camp. The Sojourner’s Camps is where you can find one of Driter’s hidden messages. The Bergusia forge is the best of the four, as you can forge any weapon frame here, even if the frame says it must be forged at another location.
To access the Bergusia forge, start at the Trostland fast travel point and Sparrow down to the Outskirts. Go across the highway bridge where a big Servitor typically spawns. Once across the highway, follow the tunnel into the open camp area. Cut across the camp and jump over the broken bridge. Now just follow the path along and into Niobe Labs. When you reach the room with enemies, jump across to the balcony and stand by the door and wait for it to open.
With each of the forge locations found, you can begin the process of igniting the forges and crafting weapons. Remember to visit Ada-1 in the Tower, Destiny 2’s vendor for all things related to forges.
