Bungie has made a lot of changes to Destiny over the years and is getting ready for another big change in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. With new features on the way, one question remains: does Destiny 2 have cross-platform play?
Bungie and Cross-Platform Play

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is just a week away and Bungie has made several preparations to get players ready for its next expansion.
The first preparation Bungie made, was taking Destiny 2 from Blizzard.net to Steam. Since the separation from Activision, Destiny needed a new home and found it on Steam. PC players were instructed to link their Blizzard account to Steam in order to maintain any progress made.
The next step Bungie took was to add cross-save. Cross-save enabled players to link their Guardian to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Giving players a choice of where they can play without leaving their friends behind. Which isn’t the case with cross-platform play.
Cross-save is not the same as cross-platform play, in which players can play with other people who have Destiny on a different console. At this time cross-platform play isn’t available for Destiny 2 but could be something we see in the future with Stadia.
In fact, General Manager of Destiny, Mark Noseworthy, said this in a tweet:
Stadia as a platform doesn’t make implementing Cross Play any harder actually. We’re focused on Cross Save this year (for all platforms). Cross Play is absolutely something we’re interested in doing some day, but we have a lot on our plate to chew through first!
For now, players will just have to wait patiently for any more news on cross-platform play for Destiny 2 as Bungie is concentrating on making sure Cross Save works perfectly.
