The very first Raid to grace Destiny is set to return in the next season of Destiny 2. Bungie has finally released a date on when the return of Atheon will take place. Here is the Destiny 2 Vault of Glass release date.
Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Release Date

Back in 2014 Bungie released Destiny and, along with it, the Vault of Glass. Guardians were pitted up against the likes of Oracles, a jumping puzzle, almost unbeatable Harpies, and the raid boss Atheon. Vault of Glass laid the groundwork for many more raids to follow and, in my opinion, is one of the best Raids ever introduced to the world of Destiny.
When can Guardians expect the Vault of Glass to open its doors once again? In This Week at Bungie (TWAB), Bungie spilled the beans and announced the return of Vault of Glass on May 22 at 10 a.m. PDT. Vault of Glass will be the first Raid coming out of the Destiny Content Vault with hopes of more past Raids following suit.
Bungie has decided to keep most aspects of the Vault of Glass the same with some minor differences that veteran Guardians should notice. As always there will be a World’s First race that Bungie will be keeping track of.
I’m over the moon to see the Vault of Glass return as many of my favorite memories of Destiny took place running it, or even simply stopping by to assist Guardians who are opening the gate to enter the Raid. It is still a mystery as to what Exotic weapons will return with the Vault of Glass, but I wouldn’t expect Gjallahorn, unfortunately.
