Getting stuck on the loading screen in Apex Legends is a right pain in the neck. A lot of the time, the infinite loading screens happen at peak hours when a lot of players try to load in and play. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to help fix the stuck loading screen error in Apex Legends.
Stuck Loading Screen
Players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will all encounter the Apex Legends stuck loading screen error at one point in their career. This problem tends to appear when the servers in your region are quite busy, specifically when a lot of players are trying to play. If you encounter the infinite loading screen on the weekends or in the evening, chances are you’re trying to sign in when everyone else is too. The first, and best, option is to try and wait it out. Wait a few minutes and then try again.

There are some other steps you can take if simply waiting doesn’t fix your game. The following steps vary in their extremes, from a standard game reset to completely redownloading Apex Legends. It’s best to start with the mild fixes for the stuck loading screen problem and work your way up to things like unlinking the Steam account. EA_Darko, a Community Manager, has responded to a thread with a few helpful suggestions:
- Restart Apex Legends the game
- Flush your DNS
- Unlink Steam account
- Uninstall and redownload Apex Legends
How to Flush DNS
In order to flush your DNS, you will need to perform some rather in-depth steps, so an intermediate level of PC knowledge will be required. This information comes courtesy of the EA help forums:
How to flush DNS on Windows 10 PC:
- Hold down the Windows Key and press X
- Click Command Prompt (Admin)
- Type ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter
- Next, type ipconfig/release and press Enter
- Then type ipconfig/renew and press Enter
- Finally, type netsh winsock reset and press Enter
- Restart your PC
This will flush out the DNS, which should help your Apex Legends client connect to the server, fixing the “stuck on loading screen” problem. In the event this does not work, consider unlinking your Steam account or redownloading Apex Legends.
Having Apex Legends load forever or get stuck on the loading screen is quite frustrating. While these suggestions aren’t guaranteed to fix the problem, they might just offer a temporary solution.
