Running and walking are just a couple of ways to get around on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There is also one more that is beneficial in certain situations. This guide will show you how to sneak in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
How to Sneak

While venturing on your island or on a friend’s island, you may find yourself in a situation where you will need to move slowly or sneak. To catch certain bugs, players will need to sneak up to catch them to add them to your collection to sell or put in the museum.
To sneak, you will first have to take your net out of your inventory and hold it. Once you have your net in hand your next action will be to hold down the A button. When you do this, your character will get into a defensive stance holding the net behind them.
When you move while in this stance, you will move slowly. Letting go of the A button will cause you to swing your net towards the ground or at the bug you are trying to catch. This is helpful when trying to catch certain bugs that will flee when you run or walk near them.
While sneaking really serves no other purpose in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will only use it when catching bugs. It can be fun to sneak around on your island when you feel like you have nothing else to do, but it’s probably time to put the game down for a bit if you get this bored.
