The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update has arrived ahead of schedule, and with it comes a slew of new content including new characters and items. One such character is Brewster, the coffee connoisseur and head pigeon at The Roost café. Follow the steps below to learn where to find Brewster in New Horizons and add The Roost to your museum.
Before attempting to find Brewster, players must first achieve several milestones. Make sure to have Update 2.0 downloaded and installed, as well as the following:
- Earn at least a 3-Star Island Rating
- Unlock the art wing of the museum (donate at least 60 items to the museum)
- Donate at least one bug, fish, sea creature, and art piece to the museum
Where to Find Brewster
After achieving the above milestones, speak to Blathers in the museum. Blathers will ask you to search for his old friend Brewster to try to convince him to come open a café in the museum. Blathers suspects Brewster is on one of the mystery islands searching for gyroid fragments.

To find Brewster, you will need to embark on a mystery island tour with Kapp’n, who sits in a boat at the end of the dock. Each tour costs 1,000 Nook Miles and work similarly to tours from the airport. Make sure to bring a shovel or buy one from Kapp’n on the island to ensure you can dig up any gyroid fragments you find.

Once you arrive at the mystery island, Brewster should be relatively easy to locate. Speak to Brewster and tell him about Blathers’ plans. It does not matter what dialogue you choose here, as long as you mention the request from Blathers. Brewster will agree to open the café and will give you a gyroid fragment before you depart. There should be at least one more gyroid fragment buried on the island as well.

How to Get The Roost
Return to your island and speak with Blathers once more. He will explain that some time is needed to prepare the museum and get The Roost up and running, and that the museum will reopen “the day after next.” At this point, all you can do is wait. You can also time travel to speed things up a bit.
To celebrate the grand opening of The Roost, be sure to speak to Tom Nook in Resident Services as soon as the café is in place. The ceremony isn’t required, but it is a nice way to commemorate the arrival of Brewster and The Roost.
